En route to Munich to meet Mane.
We met up, and he had a plan: two guide books of Munich, one in English and one in German, and a route for us to take. We started with Nymphenburg Palace.
From there, we drive to the Fussgangerzone (pedestrian zone). On the way, we saw some of the sights that we would see up close later.
We've arrived... and found another McDonald's for Sue!
Karlstor.
Brunnenbuberl.
The Augustiner restaurant/brewery, where we had a very yummy lunch.
St. Michael's Church.
The Frauenkirche. The domes were originally supposed to be taller, but they apparently ran out of money and capped them off short.
Marienplatz, with and without Sue.
The new city hall. I had some problems with pictures becomming corrupted on my camera (which wasn't actually my camera's fault, and which I figured out on the 28th). This is why the third picture has a light area.
The inner courtyard, and inside of, the new city hall.
From here, we walked to St. Peter's Church, and went up the stairs...
... partway, where Sue decided she couldn't go any higher. Mane stayed with her, and I went up the rest of the stairs to take pictures of the amazing view...
... of the new city hall ...
... of the Frauenkirche ...
... of the Funkturm ...
... and then Sue made it to the top! At first, she wouldn't come out on to the walkway.
I took more pictures: the olympic park, over the Frauenkirche...
... the new city hall again...
... and then Sue put one foot onto the walkway!
After leaving Alter Peter, we looked for something to drink. This was a little market in the square.
Friedensengel, from the car.
Next, the English Gardens, with the Chinese Tower.
Mane, myself, and Sue, at the Monopteros.
More of the English Gardens...
Driving out of Munich, toward Weilheim. We passed the Siegestor.
The Olympic Park.
In Weilheim, which is like a small Munich. Its church...
... and its beer.
Mane, in his natural habitat.
While Mane was on the phone, I took a picture of his Doo-Wop group's CD cover.
