Philadelphia Airport’s international arrivals terminal. The terminal is designed so that the ceiling is reminiscent of a naval vessel’s hull. The shape really accentuates the fisheye effect of the 15mm.
I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, and just haven’t had the time to sit down and process it. Finally, with the long weekend holiday coming, I figured that I’d better do it while I had the time…
A bank near my office was recently demolished, and I managed to get a shot of the vault just before they tore it down.
From the Philly Photobloggers meetup along East River Drive. This is the northmost house along boathouse row. Shot with a polarizing filter.
Yes, yes, I’ve been a terrible host. I’m trying to figure out how to regain the ease of editing that I used to have, and keep the data redundancy that I have now. It may be a while before I figure that out, which means I have a half-hour a day less to work on post-processing. (My lack of posts isn’t for lack of material!)
The old Philadelphia Metropolitan Hospital (8th and Race), now condos.
The number of corporate monikers surprised me. Although I don’t know why it should have.

An HDR interpretation of a handheld shot of Beth Shalom temple (a Frank Lloyd Wright building) in Elkins Park, PA. Sorry, I seem to have lost the EXIF info along the way. No, there wasn’t a flash (not sure why it thinks there was).
From a couple of weeks ago: I’ve always liked the south Philly “string lights across the street” motif.
Great timing: while I’m playing around, Photoshop CS3 comes out in beta. This was processed in CS3.

I’m in DC for a couple of days, and obviously brought the 5D along with. I’ve experienced the dreaded “5D banding” problem that I had been reading about (noise in noticeable horizontal lines across the picture). I’m trying to figure out if it’s something I’m doing differently than on my previous 5D copy (which went back for a sensor defect), or if this one is also bad. The jury’s still out. Either way I’m not happy.
This shot, however, didn’t suffer at all from banding. It only suffer …[more]
