Eilean Donan II
Well, that’s finally it – the end of my Scotland series. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Some thoughts for those that want to create similar shots:
- People are awesome. Generally, they don’t bite; go talk to them. Find out a bit about them. Ask to take their picture.
- Experiment, be creative about the limitations of the scene in front of you, and let yourself make mistakes.
- Stopon the side of the road occasionally and see what’s out there.
- Get up early or stay up late. There’s awesome lighting at dusk and dawn, and these are the sort of shots you don’t see as often. Nighttime is good, too.
- When shooting sunrise shots, don’t just shoot at the sun. Take the longest lens you’ve got and look 10 to 40 degrees off-axis for an interesting horizon.
- Be patient.
