By popular demand (meaning that one person asked me for them), I’m trying to provide larger shots. The quality of some of the images may be lower while I get the automated scaling system worked back out.

I love the mood of this shot. He looks like he’s just relaxing, sitting on the dock of the bay, yet there’s this starkly contrasting humor.
At the same time, there’s something funny about the light and/or the color that’s bothering me. The light and color on Jake and the pool look great, but the background is flat and bluish to my eye. I’m finding it slightly distracting, as my brain keeps trying to figure out what’s going on with that. Some very subtle artificial light from camera left up high, maybe, somewhat warmer than the ambient?
I think I might have liked a camera position slightly lower and to camera right, to reposition his head relative to the wall and bush back there. I might also consider cropping out the fishing net at the bottom of the frame, which slightly detracts from the humor and also pulls my eye down there unnecessarily.
Great shot, though. I wish I had more like this.
Whoops, that was me, as you probably guessed. And thanks for the larger images, though I was only a “me too” rather than the one person who asked.
Thanks for the comments, Mark. I’ll see about tweaking the color a bit. All of the shots in bright sunny conditions around the blue pool tint everything slightly bluish, and I haven’t managed to color-correct it quite right yet.
Yes, the background does look more like the day was overcast, but it was very bright, even in the shade of the house.
Wait just a minute there Marko – I was the one who asked for larger shots! (This is great, Jorj!)
Yep, Kathleen’s the lone wolf. But Mark did second the opinion!
