I’ve got about a billion pictures from Penn Relays that came out better than I had hoped. And another billion that were just a little off. It’s going to be hard not posting all of the shots for the next few months, one a day, but I think I’ll manage — I’ve got another great series that I can’t wait to post which also has me excited. Hopefully I’ll be posting the first in the new series tomorrow.
Anywho, this is obviously the womens’ high jump competition. I think Penn Relays is the mecca for sports photographers! There are so many events happening in such rapid (overlapping) succession that you can snap a shot of a relay race, turn 20 degrees and have a shot of a high jump, turn back for another relay pass, a little farther and you’ve got the pole vault, a little more for the long jump… it’s exhausting. I was only there about a half hour each day and I have 152 shots.
It sounds like you’ll be excited about the Penn Relays next time they come around! Another fine shot, Jorj. High jump is one of my favorites.
You froze the moment well!
dawn: absolutely, as long as I’m not totally swamped at work and can’t find the time to get over there.
Zishaan: thanks! It only took about six attempts before I got the shot I wanted. But that’s the nature of photography in general, isn’t it?
Very nice timing on the capture. =)
Great sports shot – the extra rotation in the framing really heightens the moment and makes the jumper float. Nice!
this shot is so nice, timed perfectly… wish id have the same opportunity to do sports photography..
Caught the the moment very well. Action in motion.
Wow! The angle realy gives this great shot an extra angle!
